Shakyamuni as an Ascetic 1966.116_web

Shakyamuni as an Ascetic, was created in China, around the early 1300’s. It is an amazing gilt bronze with polychromy sculpture and can be viewed amongst the Chinese Art department. The overall size is 44.2 x 31.8 cm (17 3/8 x 12 ½ in.). Shakyamuni as an Ascetic was purchased from the J.H Wade Fund with the accession number 1966.116. This sculpture is now in the collection of China- Yuan Dynasty with the Chinese Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The image is in the public domain.
