This banner was painted in Tibet sometime between the 18th and 19th century. A wrathful form seems to be emanating from two interlocking bodies lying on top of each other. The dark colors convey a ominous and dark atmosphere, contrasted from the lighter colors used to depict the deities at the top of the banner. Its dimensions are 56 × 44 cm (22 × 17 3/8 in.) and the banner is made of silk. This painted banner is in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago (Restricted gift of Masao Kato 1996.85) and is currently not available for view. This image is in the public domain.
