opened as the savoy - biltmore theatre in 1951. it changed ownership and was purchased by the odeon theatre chain in 1963, now renamed the coronet.
however the 1000 seat theatre couldn't compete with the other, larger movie theatres on yonge street and odeon pulled their lease in 1978. the coronet muddled on until 1983 where it was converted to retail spaces.
