AWAKENED

the tawny frogmouth (Podargus strigoides).

It is a nocturnal bird that sleeps and rests during the day. When approached, it stiffens up, lifts up its head and shuts its eyes to look more like a piece of wood. As it relaxes and becomes curious it opens up its yellow eyes to look around.
