Romeo was leaning dangerously over the neighbours garden, probably looking at some moving creature.

The Italian phrase in the title is actually the very first I learnt in my childhood, as the warning E Pericoloso Sporgersi (It is dangerous to lean out - of the window) was affixed under every window on practically every train we travelled on :)
