Archimantis Latistyla - Large Brown Mantid. N.S.W.

Adult female. The wings of the male cover the whole abdomen, whereas those of the female cover only half of it and she cannot fly.

With a body length of 8 cm, this is the largest Mantis I ever saw in our garden.
