The Temple (Extended)
Our MOC is a temple and garden on an island surrounded by cliffs, with a dragon boat contest nearby. The temple and dragon boats were displayed in Brickvention 2020. The MOC is minifig-scale: a minifigure can move to different levels of the temple using stairs. There are several rooms in the temple, such as the altar room, meditation area, dojo, kitchen, dining room, dormitory and library.
The dragon boats were inspired by LEGO set 80103. The contest adds vibrance and liveliness to the scene and was a great way to get creative with the colours and accessories of each group’s boat.
The newest part of this MOC is the Japanese-inspired garden, which we always had the idea to create and finished in seven days (we were unable to access our LEGO collection for much of the year due to COVID-19)! The centrepiece is a pagoda floating in the middle of the lake, surrounded by sakura trees and a variety of greenery. We duplicated several elements from the temple, such as benches, stone paths, landscaping, and bridge structure. Enjoy!
