Compositional Techniques: Which two techniques did you use in this photo?
I used the techniques of leading lines and the rule of thirds.
Sustained Investigation: What is your sustained investigation statement? This should be the same for all FIFTEEN photos.
How can our modes of transportation describe us without words?
Materials: What materials were used?
The materials used were of course my DSLR camera, a very nice vintage alfa romeo car, and the street as a background.
Idea: Share the concept or story behind this photo. How did you interpret the Sustained Investigation?
The idea behind this photo was to take a photo of a very nice vintage car in motion. I made the decision to photograph this car very quickly of course, and I made a lot of assumptions about the car's owner and driver. A few of these assumptions are that maybe the owner is old, crafty, and takes pride in their car and hard work. Being a very old car, in great shape, it tells me a lot about the owner's dedication to their car, and leads me to believe they take great pride in it. Also, having a vanity plate tells me that the owner does not mind spending money to personalize their car, and further the story that it tells.
Process: What process was used? How did you take this photo? How do the materials relate to the idea?
I took this photo very quickly. As I saw the car approaching me, I made the split-second decision to take a photo, and with it set up my zoom, focus, and exposure on my camera. I never really adjust shutter speed because I find that the automatic mode works best for me. As the car went by me, I took a series of photos, and this was in my opinion, the best.
