Riesling budburst

Tasmania's moderate southern latitude and mild maritime climate makes it an ideal place for growing cool climate wine varieties like Riesling.

It’s such a wonderfully expressive variety and right from the outset of our bold decision to take on wine production here in south-eastern Tasmania, the variety was one of our top four selections.

Sure, harvest might not occur until well into vintage – late April is a typical period for picking Riesling here at Bangor – but if we suck in our breaths and wait patiently, we’re invariably rewarded with fruit that possesses the key aroma and flavour attributes we look to showcase in our Lagoon Bay wine.
