Great Theater of Ephesus
At its height the theatre could seat up to 25,000. Going through Greek development and Roman renovation, there were theatrical plays, musical performances, political and religious events.
The location is most famous for being the staging ground for St. Paul to preach to Asia Minor. St. Paul was an influence that threatened the local worship of Artemis, or the Roman Diana, by denouncing idol worship. This threatened the sales of Artemis statues causing a panic that almost turned violent. Paul was forced to leave Ephesus.
