Ratty RDC’s
PATrain’s 4 RDC’s throttle it up heading through Laughlin Junction on their way from Grant Street. The motley crew of RDC’s, some ex-B&O, some not, were the backbone of Pittsburgh Port Authority’s efforts to maintain the former B&O commuter operations from Grant Street to North Versailles from 1975 until the ex-WAG F units showed up in April of 1981. The date on the slide is August 1st, 1981, but I would imagine that that’s the processing date, so it’s likely the summer of 1980, I’ll just stick with 8/1/1981. 8/1/1981. James P. Marcus photo.
