Exposed

Though the water levels in Haweswate were not as low as during some previous droughts, they were still sufficiently low to expose some of the walls and building remains of Mardale, both in the foreground and on the far bank. The village was forcibly abandoned when the valley was flooded to construct the reservoir in 1935. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mardale

In addition, the island of Wood Howe on the right is not far from being rejoined to the 'mainland'.Not sure that levels will be this low for much longer considering all the rain we had over our weekend visit, plus even heavier deluges since we left on Sunday morning! Prominent in the centre is the headland of The Rigg, with High Street's top hidden in the clouds beyond. The little upthrust on the right is Kidsty Pike.
