Through my research, I found inspiration via songs, movies, and books that link to my project to help prepare me for my final piece. I recently watched “Arrived”, and I found it interesting because people have a logic that a language should be a certain way; in this case, the aliens spoke in a circular array of inky patterns known as logograms. While learning the alien language, the main character’s brain is “re-wired”, leading her to change how she thinks drastically. This movie changed my way of perceiving communication and encouraged me to view my practice as a circle, which is non-linear and constantly transforming.
