Izvir Glijuna spring
In the immediate vicinity of Bovec there is the source of a cold karst creek named Gljun. Its waters come from the high Kanin mountain range and come to the surface in an interesting spring. After larger rainfalls the water literally bursts from beneath the moss-covered rocks. Downstream this creek creates the wonderful Virje waterfall and its emerald green pool.
The water level in the Gljun creek varies tremendously through the year. In autumns rainy days and when the snow from Kanin mountain range melts the power of water is quite intimidating.
