Magnificent stained glass window of Jasper Tudor and his wife Katherine Woodville in one of many castles he possessed. Jasper Tudor, Duke of Bedford, Earl of Pembroke, was the uncle of King Henry VII of England and a leading architect of his nephew's successful accession to the throne in 1485 when his army delivered defeat to King Richard III‘s forces at the Battle of Bosworth. He was from the noble Tudor family of Penmynydd in North Wales. He wears his coat of arms, granted to him by his maternal half-brother, King Henry VI, an arms quarterly with the addition of a bordure azure (blue border) with Martlets (heraldic stylised birds known as Martens similar to a swallow).
