Sunset over the Nile (part two)

Sunset over the Nile (Part 2)

Sudan; 6:30 pm

Eurasian paratroopers crouch behind an AC unit on the roof of a run down building. Across from them, is the hotel where NATO and local regime officials are supposed to be meeting at. Eurasian officials stationed outside of the regime controlled cities in South Sudan, had received this info from an anonymous spy working for Eurasia and UAPR. A lone Eurasian helicopter had dropped the paratroopers off at a vantage point exactly a mile away from the hotel. The small group of paratroopers then made their way to the planned vantage point; the building across from the hotel. While NATO troops had spotted the helicopter, they weren’t able to identify if it was Eurasian, and thus only added a few more guards around the hotel. The paratroopers had spotted a few but were able to sneak by, fearful that they would spotted if they killed any of the NATO troops.

On the roof of the building, the Eurasian troopers watched as a single regime soldier paced back and forth on one of the hotel balconies. Far below at street level, NATO trucks and troops filled the street In front of the hotel, unknowing of what was about to happen.

The first paratrooper unslung his gun from his back, and shot out a cable the attached to the balcony of the hotel.

The regime soldier surprised by this, looked up towards the roof of the other building where the group of paratroopers stood, no longer obscured. He aimed his gun, desperately trying to kill the Eurasian soldiers.

Hearing the gunshots, and seeing the regime soldier taking aim again, the captain of the group of paratroopers signaled to his men to get behind the AC unit. While they hadn’t sustained any casualties yet, one of the paratroopers in the front of the group had gotten shot in his leg, and was being dragged back with the other troopers. The captain however, did not move back with his troops, he instead raised his AK-12 and quickly sent a shower of bullets towards the balcony. As he turned back to his men he heard the scream of the regime soldier as the bullets hit him and he fell back against the glass.

Now that the guard had been taking care of, the Eurasians mounted the zip line that had been positioned only minutes earlier.

As they slid down the zip line, gun shots rang out as the NATO troops, now alert, shot up at them. Somehow, the paratroopers were able to get to the balcony relatively unharmed, firing shots of at the glass and at the regime soldier for good measure. After two of the paratroopers reached the balcony, they brutally picked up the now dead regime soldier and threw him to the ground below.

Panicked NATO and regime officials were trying desperately to evacuate, as the squad of paratroopers stepped through the the broken glass and opened fire. Some tried to hide behind broken or overturned furniture, while others were unlucky and were shot as they tried to run for cover.

After the raid, the Eurasian and UAPR forces were one step closer to taking control of Egypt and the Suez Canal as well as the surrounding land…
