First Time for Everything
This is something I have never seen before. In all of my years living and visiting after moving away, I have never seen a Norfolk Southern locomotive on or leading a train on this line.
I saw this train pass on the Dunn, NC webcam (25 miles north of Fayetteville) about an hour before I left my folks house. I had already chalked this up as a loss. I went downtown to catch a different train. Then I saw the train appear and noticed the front head lights were too high for a CSX locomotive. This train had to stop between Dunn and Fayetteville, and this first time sighting happened. Norfolk Southern CW44AC6M #4272 leads with Canadian Pacific CW44AC #9801 trailing on a southbound ethanol train (102 cars) on the South End Sub in Fayetteville, NC.
