En su territorio, rodeados de pinos, los búhos chicos (Asio otus) son prácticamente intedectables. Su camuflaje no sólo pasa por los colores, también por las formas, son capaces de alargar el cuerpo para parecer una rama más del pino.
Así, confiados en su mimetismo y siempre sin miradas directas ni movimientos bruscos, puedes colocarte a escasos metros de esta preciosa especie y realizar retratos como este que os muestro hoy. Insisto, este ejemplar está fotografiado en su entorno y en total libertad.

In their territory, surrounded by pine trees, the long-eared owls (Asio otus) are practically undetectable. Their camouflage is not only based on their colours, but also on their shapes; they are able to lengthen their body to look like another branch of the pine tree.
