It is 08.05.2177, after a meeting with my Chief Engineer and the Tactical Officer I am convinced that now is the moment to inform my crew about the jump drive of the Centauri. The first jump is imminent.
Cpt Harley : Communications ? I need a ship wide channel
Communication : Open captain please speak
Cpt Harley : Crew of the Yamakoto, this is the captain.
Some of you have heard rumors of a so-called jump drive that we have received from our allies the Centauri.
I must confirm that this is not just a rumor....
The SCSS Yamakoto is the first and only ship in the Solar Confederation to have not only the commonly known FTL drive, but also a Centauri gravitational jump drive.
I regret that we have kept this information from you until now, unfortunately we were forced to do so by spies within our own ranks. I apologize to all of you on behalf of the Confederation.
Our chief engineer will contact you via ship communication and give you some details about our engines, until then I ask for your patience.
