Polar bear
Although "polar", the polar bear regularly ventures onto the tundra in the summer when temperatures are around 25°C!
They find a different biotope there than on the glaciers: mosses, lichens, heathers, rocks and some shrubs.
The melting of the ice pack reduces the hunting territory of the bears. The females do not accumulate enough reserves to live in their den, which does not allow them to feed their young properly. Today, 60% of the cubs die before the age of one year, whereas in the 90's, 40% of them died.
Small simple gestures, such as turning off appliances on standby or composting waste, limit the emission of greenhouse gases. This helps to protect our environment and that of the polar bear.
