The Love Story of the Fish & The Catappa

A love story of the fish and the catappa

🐟🍂 The story goes, fish growing in river bodies with a Terminalia catappa on its banks grow healthier, are more vibrant and active. Relatively

🐟🍂 The Cause - the fallen leaves have special properties

🐟🍂 Folks at the Aquarium took up this idea to introduce the fallen leaves to help the fish spawn, and keep the tank clean

🐟🍂 Caveat - the leaves have to fall naturally and dry

🐟🍂 they are anti parasitic, anti fungal, anti bacterial

🍂🐟 They keep the tank free from pathogens and help to create an environment for the growth of healthier fish or so they believe

🍂🍃 Leaves are broad, ovoid, glossy dark green, and leathery

🍃🍂 They change colour before they fall. Green to Pinkish, green to yellowish

🍃🍂 This one was turning into a yellow-brown. The grounds under have a fall feel to it in Indian tropics.

🍂🍃 Our fall feel leafy tree

Watch out for the broad colourful leaves on Cochin Roads. Most of MG Road has a Catappa cover. Hard to miss. Beautiful months ahead canopy color wise
