Insectoid Colony Onset

The expeditionary Insectoid crew has settled in a far planet beyond the sphere of any known civilization. They first used their ship as a base but have begun to build one to establish their presence, as their vessel has other places to go.

The new building has just enough of a life-support to support a couple colonizers on their own as they work in the ever-coming new data from researching this planet. Research that will determine if the planet is worth inhabiting or just a strategic location. This feels like a rest after any task in the desolate outside, as robots may be the best at hard work but someone has to supervise them. A bunch of room is taken by heavy-duty tools, they may be moved to a hangar when one is eventually built, but until then their vehicles have a simple roof.

In the wake of their ship’s departure, the crew is performing one last collection mission. Enough fuel for the returnees’ trip and the settler’s safe stay. Without the pioneering ship’s communications array they are going to be cut off from the rest of their society, but their solitude is calculated to be brief. A new ship is to come collect energy crystals for their main worlds as data expects mining activities to grow exponentially. Although the flight schedule may be broken if a communications tower is built to warn the closest civilized planet of changing needs, an emergency, or a request to abandon a hopeless world.
