Ross Fountain, Edinburgh
Situated in Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens Ross Fountain is a turquoise, brown and gold coloured cast iron structure which was sculpted by the French artist Jean Baptiste Jules Klagmann.
The fountain was gifted to Edinburgh by local gunsmith Daniel Ross and installed in 1872. The fountain was restored in 2018 with the help of the Ross Development Trust.
At the base of the fountain there are mermaids, walrus,and lion heads and cherrubs. At the top of Ross Fountain are 4 female figures representing science, arts, poetry and industry.
