Thick-legged flower beetle

These insects are so metallic they look, well, like they're made from very shiny green metal! They look kinda mean too with their extra-think hind legs and powerful jaws. You wouldn't wan to to mess with one! Taken at Wigan Flashes LNR, Wigan using my Sigma 105mm macro lens, almost at it's closest focusing distance (35cm)
