2025 marks the 80th anniversaries of VE Day (Victory in Europe Day) on 8 May
To mark the historic moment the Second World War ended in Europe in 1945, hundreds of events have begun around the UK. Four days of celebrations, which have been organised by the government, began on Monday 5 May and will run until Thursday 8 May.
Wednesday 7 May
In the evening of 7 May, an anniversary concert will take place in Westminster Hall at the Palace of Westminster.
It will mark 80 years since a newsflash told the nation that the next day would be known as Victory Day.
The Parliament Choir will perform pieces of classic music from across Europe and America, w ith the addition of special guests.
