The splendor of the unique Renault FU truck built in France in 1919 is astonishing, with its solid rubber tires, huge cast iron wheels and 7 ton head weight.
Jānis Priede, a member of the Antique Car Club, has long wanted to add this type of vehicle to his collection of antique trucks. It was a great pleasure, therefore, when a 1919 Renault FU, or more precisely, a wreck, was found in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in the autumn of 2008. The seller had inherited the collection and planned to focus more on cars, so the owned trucks were sold. The talks were opened by the fact that the seller has already visited Latvia twice in retro car rallies.
