The Survivors RPG Monthly Challenge #1 - 12x12

Ordin Voss

Location: Felucia

///LOG ENTRY\\\

After that terrible mission in the Coruscant waterways, I’ve decided to take part in an urgent off-planet assignment. After intercepting several Imperial messages, we learned nothing of the crime lords on Coruscant, but rather of the location of two important Mon Calamari generals who played a big part in the battle between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire years ago. The intercepted message included the planet they are captive on -Felucia- as well as their coordinates.

I meet up with my team whom I will be travelling with. They are both from Jax’s crew, so I know neither of them. The first introduces himself as Kreet. He’s a soldier, and treats everything very seriously. The other is a young human, and I can tell he’s a lot more casual. He says he’s called Boryn, and doesn’t say much after that.

The transport arrives on Felucia in an open area. Kreet will be leading the way, and he has a navigation device that should lead us to the Imperial station. As we head towards the coordinates, the jungle grows much thicker. As we get deeper in, Boryn is more uncomfortable, and he takes more of an attacking approach of travel, slashing at every bit of undergrowth in our way. It makes a lot of noise, and as Kreet and I scout ahead, Boryn falls far behind. For a moment I forget about him, and then I hear blaster shots from behind.

Kreet and I rush to the area of the noise. Boryn is muttering and cussing underneath his breath, and several large grub-like creatures lie dead on the ground. Kreet tries to calm him down, but Boryn doesn’t listen. “That’s it. I’m getting out of here!” he cries, then turns around and slashes through the heavy vines behind us. Suddenly I hear a thunderous snap, and I watch in shock as Boryn is engulfed by an enormous plant, then dragged underneath the mud.

Kreet and I are quick to get out of the area, and are careful not to disrupt the fauna… as well as flora, just in case. He says that Boryn was not important and was only a backup, since the base is only being used as a prison and will not have more than a few guards, but it doesn’t alter the fact that we just witnessed something incredibly sickening. Eventually we near the coordinates and sneak towards the area. However, to our surprise there is no visible base, and as we reach the exact coordinates we find nothing.

I wonder for some time where the base could be. Could the coordinates be incorrect? Were we misled? Kreet whistles, and I see that he’s pointing towards a generator sticking out of the mud. “These aren’t the wrong coordinates,” he says, “The base is underground.”

\\\LOG END///

This is my first entry for the new monthly challenges we are having. From this angle it looks like the 'jellyfish' and the clear parts below it are far over the boundary, but they're not really going over. The section with the clear parts popped out a bit before I took the photos, I've fixed it and I can retake them if you'd like.
