The Survivors RPG Mission 3 Phase 2
Ordin Voss
Location: Survivor Base on Coruscant
///LOG ENTRY\\\
It has been several weeks since the riots have been quelled. News of the arrival of more Survivors brings some hope, but it is overshadowed by the threat of a growing Imperial force, and the possibility of traitors within our cause.
During my time with the Survivors so far, we have brought supplies to many poor and injured citizens, and the problem of low resources has mostly diminished. At least, until now. There is talk of poisoned, undrinkable water going on throughout the city. Citizens have been reportedly dying after taking water from multiple aquifers throughout the city. To solve this problem, our group has called over another group of Survivors that has arrived on Coruscant for immediate backup.

The new group has arrived to help. There are over a dozen of them, and they don’t seem too close. Their unannounced “leader”, Jax, seems to be a good guy. He says his group recently repaired a Coruscant Police Building in the Senate District, and they’ve been awaiting calls for help from other Survivors. He says that he plans for himself, Zaryya, and I to scout the main poisoned aquifer for possible Imperial threats tomorrow. If there are none, then we will return with more Survivors to find the source of the poison and eliminate it.

Jax, Zaryya and I have arrived at the Coruscant waterways. We are deep underground, surrounded by Republic and Imperial-era industrial machinery. We had to abandon the airspeeder we took to get here a long time ago, but we plan to take the same route back. “This is it,” Zaryya says, and the three of us round the corner to discover a crude Imperial base, with a watchtower and several stormtroopers, as well as another kind of trooper that I don’t recognize. The discovery is surprising, and we quickly trace back to discuss. We don’t plan to engage, but we make sure our blasters are charged anyways. Anything could happen.
“We’ll stay for as long as we can without being discovered,” Jax whispers. “Our objective is to find out what they’re doing. Why they’re here, and who sent them. I’ve had many encounters with Imperial warlords, and I need to find out which ones are still active.”
We suddenly overhear some raspy, non-Imperial voices. I take a quick glance, and there are two non-human, ponytailed thugs with a not-so-friendly disposition. I also notice that there are crates filled with red canisters, and the thugs are speaking with the Imps. “Keep dumping the canisters, scum. The poison should keep those rebels busy for some while. You’ll be paid soon enough.” Zaryya seems to recognize them, and I ask who they are. She says they’re two of the sons of a notorious Empire-supporting crime lord that we have been keeping on the radar for quite some time. The Survivors on Coruscant have been having trouble tracking them, but now we may have some leads.
We decide that it’s time to leave, as we have gathered enough information to launch an attack. However as we quietly make our way back to the speeder, one of the troopers spots us and calls for help. I quickly count the number of stormtroopers. There aren’t too many of them, and we may be able to hold them off until we can get to the speeder. However we are soon surrounded, and I realize that we will have to fight our way out of this. Jax and I pull out our blasters and both go for the Stormtroopers nearest to us. Meanwhile Zaryya evades the other two, and eventually shoots them both.
I realize that the three of us may actually be able to take the base on our own, and I signal that I will go after the watchtower. Zaryya disagrees, and says we should leave before the other Stormtroopers can recover. However, I can’t help but notice the many crates filled with poison canisters. If we don’t stop them now, how many citizens will this poison kill? I run for the watchtower, and Jax follows, planning to go after the last few Imperials. Zaryya is obviously frustrated, but she too follows Jax to help him out.
I thankfully brought a grappling hook earlier, and I ascend the tower before the Stormtroopers below can shoot. To my surprise, I am ambushed by a specialized trooper when I reach the top. We’re too close together to shoot, so we struggle, both trying to push the other off the watchtower. Eventually I prevail, and the Imperial lands in the water below before his heavy jetpack can activate. At the top of the watchtower is some sort of Imperial transmitter. It could be useful, so I store it in my cloak. I then hear a cry of help from the ground level, and I see that Jax and Zaryya are struggling to fight another one of the specialized troopers, plus both of the brothers, who are evidently very skilled in combat.
Before I can get down, both of my colleagues are stunned by the trooper’s blaster, though Jax absorbs most of the shock. I realize that the trooper is some sort of Stun Trooper variant. I make it to the ground just in time to take out the Stun Trooper, but the brothers don’t back down. “You’re fighting on the wrong side of this battle, swamp rat,” Ponytail 1 says, “But it’s too late now.” I wonder what he means by that, and then I see a whole squad of Stormtroopers behind them, blasters ready. Since Jax took most of the stun hit, he is completely unconscious. Thankfully Zaryya has somewhat recovered, and we are forced to make a run for it, abandoning Jax with the Imperials.
This mission has been utterly unsuccessful, and I feel that I’m to blame since it was my idea to try to take the base while completely outnumbered. The Imperials have taken Jax, and for the moment his group is stuck with us. However, some good has come out of this- the transmitter I found lets us listen in on all of the Imperial conversations going on throughout all of Coruscant, and we later returned to the waterways to find the base abandoned, with the poison unused. The Survivors have been able to repair most of the poisoned aquifers, and they are no longer a threat. This is all for now.
\\\LOG END///
This MOC was a lot fun to build, and I completed most of it in pretty much one morning while with my family. The watchtower is inspired by the one seen in Princess Mononoke. If you need a better photo angle to grade the build, then I will be happy to provide it. Thanks for viewing!
