For the Love of Machines

Keep that motor running. You can see the flywheel spinning.

This miniature steam traction engine is owned and run by Pearn's Steam World of Westbury, Tasmania. The Pearn family have been involved in steam for several generations, and this little beauty is used to take children for rides.

This one-third sized model was made by Verdun Pearn in the late 1950s. It is a painstaking reproduction of a Wallis & Steevens in every way.

Wallis & Steevens of Basingstoke, Hampshire, England produced agricultural equipment, traction engines and steam and diesel road rollers. They were founded in 1856 and sadly ceased trading in 1981.
