Nelson and Fort Sheppard Railway
IRRS 4519 sits in the spur at Atco Wood Products just east of Fruitvale, BC. The Nelson and Fort Sheppard Railway is a small railroad based in Fruitvale, BC and runs south to Columbia Gardens where it interchanges with the St Paul and Pacific Northwest Railroad. Originally the tracks extended northward to Nelson, BC, those tracks were originally built by the GN. To the northwest, the western terminus of CPs Kootenai Valley Railway is located in Trail, although there is no connecting tracks to the STPP or NFTS. The NFTS hauls lumber up and down their line, with their main industry being the railroads owner, Atco Wood Products. They currently use a chopped nose GP9 for power which was originally built for the GTW.
