The Lower Siskiyou line
A pair of CORP GP38-3s are in charge of March 25th's Weed-Hornbrook Hauler seen here heading away from Mt. Eddy and North towards Hornbrook
Chasing job 500 had been fairly easy so far. They had made a slow descent out of Weed which allowed us to grab a couple shots in the area. When we got out to the shot with Shasta in the background I had been looking forward too, they had picked up speed but were still slow going. Although the Shasta spot was horribly backlite, this spot definitely made up for it. As they picked up speed a lot I made the decision to skip the shot in Gazelle as we would have probably gotten very close to missing it and cutting it close for a shot along this section. I wasn't really paying attention to the background until I arrived at the spot but I'm super glad I chose it since it turned out great. Although the nose is still darker than the rest of the train and I wasn't super happy at first, at least it wasn't fully backlite and it still looks great.
