Shauna Accepts a Transfer
Shauna is doing a three-week long pose at the New Mexico Art League studio. The first week, I sketched her in graphite (see "Shauna" in my Figure Studies album.) From here, I move to oil paint. Using Canson tracing paper (35.6 x 43.2 cm or 14 x 17 inches), I traced over in graphite, then flipped the sheet and applied contour lines using a General's 557-4B soft charcoal pencil. With the charcoal down on my prepped linen sheet, I scribbled over with a B pencil, giving myself a starting point for the two oil sessions upcoming.
