For this photo, I wanted to use the complexities of a chess board and chess pieces, so I used a slow shutter speed for one side of the board that acts as the chaotic, pressurizing moves, juxtaposed against the singular hand in focus simply ready to place one chess piece. I purposefully used symmetry to enhance the difference between the two, and used side light to create shadows from the chess pieces, further intensifying the chaos in the image.
