Respiratory Care Pinnig Ceremony

Manchester’s Respiratory Care program graduates were recognized today at a pinning ceremony, which symbolizes their completing their educational requirements and marks their transition into the profession. Originating during the Crusades (!) and awarded to monks providing medical care, the practice of pinning spread widely to nurses and, eventually, to those practicing allied health. Today, pinning – at its very core – symbolizes that soon-to-be graduates are ready to take on their new professional role.
