A year went by and Stella started questioning the long engagement. Sure, they were very young and it wasn’t necessary to hurry. And the wedding of this caliber would take a long time planning. But why weren’t they making these preparations? Matt reassured her again and again, but the reasons, clear at the time, started to blurry. While Stella was contemplating all this yet again, Beth entered the room. Cautiously, she reminded Stella of the Christmases of her childhood, before the tragedy, weren’t they just magical? And wasn’t it a pity the help nowadays and, most importantly, their children weren’t allowed to celebrate? Stella didn’t need another reminder that Christmas was coming. Enraged, she stated that anyone as much as mentioning Christmas in the house, or getting any festive object inside, would be fired immediately.
