Rafter finial in the shape of a dragon’s head and wind chime

This piece is called “Rafter Finial in the shape of a Dragon’s Head and Wind Chime” and is from the early Goryeo dynasty (918-1392) dated in the 10th century. It comes from Korean culture and is a gilt bronze. It has dimensions of, Finial: 11 3/4 in. × 9 in. × 15 1/2 in. (29.8 × 22.9 × 39.4 cm) Chime: 15 1/4 × 7 1/4 in. (38.7 × 18.4 cm) and is classified as a sculpture. It is credited as a gift from The Vincent Astor Foundation, 1999, Benefit Fund, and the Rosenkranz Foundation Inc., 1999. It is very symbolistic and shows great craftsmanship.
