Back Home to Euclid #1
While looking for photos from a US holiday back in 2009, I found these two old shots. The dates and the camera tell me that after I got back home, I went to my own hometown Melbourne CBD to look at it through fresh eyes and the camera I had just bought in New York. (The camera had a fine reputation at the time, but phone cameras have stolen the niche it and its type occupied.) The shots were taken at the back of Federation Square, the site of a Branch of the National Gallery of Victoria, opened in 2001.
As with so many of my shots, they need to be looked at large scale. There is one human figure in this one, giving a sense of scale, and it could easily be missed especially on a phone view…
