Rail Trail Shared Footway and Linear Park

On the "Outer Circle Railway Linear Park/ Anniversary Trail".

The purpose of this railway "folly" had been undermined by other projects even before construction began in a boom time. The ensuing busts hastened the line's irrelevance and it was eventually turned into a linear park shared footway.

(The Civil Engineer in charge of the construction of the original rail line was the famous Australian, Sir John Monash. British and Australian military historians tend to differ over the significance of his role as an Australian army general towards the end of WWI, but he was knighted in the field by the King, so some people must have thought he did well. He has a more enduring University and a freeway named after him.)
