Filtered Sunlight on Royal Blue Pedicure and Persian Rug
This follows two earlier photos from the same session shot through the security screen of an open front door, with noonday sun falling onto a beautiful Persian rug at the entrance. The shadows of the screen made it appear as if the feet were in stockings. I felt the theme could bear another variation. The ingredients are the same, but here there are interesting chance variations, in light and shadow details in particular. (One creates the illusion of a three-dimensional fold in the rug which was actually perfectly flat. Other details include both big toe shadows falling onto one foot near the area of greatest contrast.)
The Joshaghan rug is superb, but under normal conditions relatively sombre. The clear sunlight brings out the richness of the dyes in the densely knotted wool.
