Footwell 4 — Feet up
Taken from near the newel post seen in #3, looking in the the opposite direction and down. At the foot of the stairs are some small Persian rugs, this time from from Nain.
Eighteen months ago, I took a couple of photos of these feet in an arrangement I'd thought about for some time, but never thought I'd bring to fruition. The results were so well received, I've since been encouraged into a sideline specialty of 'footography'. There have been two more sessions, with evolving ideas for novelty. But now the feet have been photographed from nearly every angle and in all the original settings we have at our disposal to show them off in. Although I thought the same after the second session, this time it is likely there won't be too many more.
It is not in the nature of the person who walks with these feet to flaunt herself, but I don't think she has minded too much that I have done it for her — in fact she surprised me a little by revealing that she takes some pleasure in it.
