Sisters, Together and Separately (2 of 5)
Up till now, my two daughters have been represented by a single Flickr picture each. Given the photos were taken with a half-frame film camera through a zoom lens and not optimally reproduced, I did not expect them to get as much attention as they have in the hyper-sharp digital era. The older child was shown very young, the younger a fair bit older.
This is one of five shots taken of the same pair on a single memorable day, when one was just under nine, the other around five and a half. We had been to see the British steam engine "Flying Scotsman" on its last run through Melbourne during Australia's bicentennial celebration. Afterwards, on a high, we stopped at every playground between the station and home...
For each of them, probably the greatest gift in her life that I have contributed to is the other.
(This shows the same child as in 'Softness', but about four and a half times older.)
Olympus Pen FT Half-frame SLR, F3.5 50-90mm zoom.
