Tsunami Coming up

During the brief tropical twilight, on L'Île-des-Pins, Nouvelle-Calédonie, a father gives his son a lesson in one of life's satisfying skills -- how to skim stones off flat water.

Surf can be made out on the horizon, breaking on the surrounding reefs that distinguish these islands from, say, Hawaii.

Faint breezes (and wading feet) exposed ripple surfaces favourable to specular reflection of the clouds.
