Class 20001 (D8001) Dereham MNR.
Privately Owned Class 20001 (D8001) which is based at the Epping Ongar Railway is seen here coasting into Dereham MNR approaching its rostered rolling stock ready to form the last train off the Gala heading Towards wymondham during the Mid Norfolks Railway Diesel Gala in 2022. Being one off the first Class 20 locomotives built back in the late 1950’s the first off it’s type - the class20 locomotive Type 1 Bo-Bo with 1000 H.P. Makes a welcome visit to the MNR being looked after by its group with the locomotive being well over 66+ years old and still sounding and performing well in preservation and certainly made some fantastic performances whilst being upfront. - 25/09/2022.
