Fangorn

Kennt noch jemand Bücher?

Das waren eine Art Papierbündel, in denen Geschichten zu lesen waren. Nicht ganz wie die Geschichten der tausend Freunde auf Facebook, WhatsApp und Co., doch fast noch schöner.

Oftmals waren diese spannend und unterhaltsam, wie zum Beispiel „Der Herr der Ringe“.

Nun ja, heute sind es fast nur noch Nerds und Ewig Gestrige, die darin blättern und teilweise sogar lesen...

 

Ich glaube, ich fand einen winzigen Rest dieses Waldes, hier ganz in der Nähe.

 

 

Der Fangornwald

 

Wie der Alte Wald war auch Fangorn einer der letzten Überreste der großen Urwälder von Mittelerde des Ersten Zeitalters, die vor den verheerenden Schlachten des Zweiten Zeitalters und den Rodungen durch die Númenórer ganz Eriador bedeckten. Zu dieser Zeit war der Fangorn deutlich größer, ebenso wie Lothlórien. Beide Wälder waren dadurch fast benachbart. Im Dritten Zeitalter waren beide nur noch ein Schatten ihrer Vergangenheit und schwanden weiter.

Viele dunkle Gerüchte ranken sich um den Wald. In einigen Tälern des Fangorn ist die Dunkelheit nie gewichen und die Bäume dort waren alt und bisweilen boshaft. Er wurde daher von den Bewohnern der umliegenden Gebiete und Reisenden gemieden, sogar von den Elben Lothlóriens.

 

Doch der Elb Legolas erkannte, dass der Wald nicht böse ist, sondern nur wütend und wachsam und das es nur sehr wenige Stellen im Fangorn gibt, wo die Bäume ein dunkles Herz haben.

Does anyone else remember books?

They were a kind of paper bundle in which stories could be read. Not quite like the stories of the thousand friends on Facebook, WhatsApp and Co., but almost more beautiful.

Often these were exciting and entertaining, such as "The Lord of the Rings".

 

Well, today it's almost only nerds and those who are permanently stuck in the past, who browse through them and sometimes even read them...

 

I think I found a tiny remnant of this forest, close by here.

 

 

The Fangorn Forest

 

Like the Old Forest, Fangorn was one of the last remnants of the great primeval forests of Middle-earth of the First Age, which covered all of Eriador before the devastating battles of the Second Age and the clearings by the Númenórians. At that time, Fangorn was much larger, as was Lothlórien. Both forests were almost adjacent as a result. In the Third Age, both were but a shadow of their past and continued to dwindle.

Many dark rumors surround the forest. In some valleys of Fangorn the darkness never left and the trees there were old and sometimes vicious. It was therefore avoided by the inhabitants of the surrounding lands and travelers, even by the elves of Lothlórien.

 

But the elf Legolas realized that the forest is not evil, but only angry and vigilant, and that there are very few places in Fangorn where the trees have a dark heart.
