GWR 'City of Truro' locomotive

The famous GWR steam engine to be recorded officially to do 100mph on the Royal Mail boat train from the South Coast of England in 1904.

LSWR and GWR had an unofficial race to see who could get to Bristol fastest with the passengers and mail from the ocean liners berthing at the Southern coastline harbours of the time. The LSWR taking the passengers and the GWR taking the mail, thus the race was born. Even the Great Western CME Churchward was heard to say to the drivers of the GWR locos taking part "plough it on" or words to that effect.

My MOC has working connecting rods, fully detailed cab and is fully lined out but as I could not find decals of the early GWR logo I've had to try my hand drawn version so please don't be too critical lol.

Enjoy and a very Merry Christmas to all my followers and viewers who have shown your enthusiasm for my builds over the past 5 months, a huge thank you and look forward to your future patronage in 2021.
