మహిళలు బయటకు రావాలంటే భయపడిపోతున్నారు. రాత్రి సమయంలో కాదు ఉదయం సమయంలో కూడా బయటకు వచ్చేందుకు జంకుతున్నారు. మనదేశంలోనే కాదు అభివృద్ధి చెందిన అమెరికా వంటి దేశాల్లో కూడా మహిళలకు రక్షణ లేకుండా పోయింది. న్యూయార్క్ నగరంలోని లేక్సింగ్టన్ ప్రాంతంలోని సబ్ వే రైల్వే స్టేషన్ లోని ఫ్లాట్ ఫామ్ మీద ఓ వ్యక్తి దారుణానికి పాల్పడ్డాడు.
ఒంటరిగా ఉన్న మహిళపై దాడి చేసి అందరూ చూస్తుండగానే అత్యాచారయత్నం చేశాడు. చుట్టూ ఉన్న వ్యక్తులు వదిలేయ్ అని పెద్దగా అరవడంతో ఆమెను వదిలేసి వెళ్ళిపోయాడు. కొందరు దీనిని వీడియోగా తీసి సోషల్ మీడియాలో పోస్ట్ చేశారు. అయితే, న్యూయార్క్ పోలీసులు ఇప్పటికే ఆ వ్యక్తిని అదుపులోకి తీసుకున్నారు. అత్యాచార యత్నానికి ప్రయత్నించిన వ్యక్తిని కఠినంగా శిక్షించాలని నెటిజన్లు డిమాండ్ చేస్తున్నారు.

Jose Reyes was arrested less than 24 hours after attempting to rape a woman on a subway platform. @NYPDSVU Detectives worked tirelessly to find him while the elected officials who say there’s a slow down were tucked tightly in their beds.
