"Ta moko face paint" is not a standard practice, as tā moko is the traditional Māori facial tattooing art form, not face paint. However, some Māori people choose to use face paint as a temporary, modern alternative to permanent tattoos to express cultural pride, while others wear the actual facial tattoos, or moko, as a visual symbol of identity, lineage, and commitment to their heritage
