Young woman receives injectable contraception at a UNFPA-supported mobile clinic
A young woman steps out of a UNFPA-supported mobile clinic, led by mobile brigades, after receiving an injectable form of contraception. Mobile clinic activities are funded by the Governments of Norway and Austria, and UN CERF.
With more than half of births occurring amongst women aged 15-24 nationally (Census 2017), increasing access and availability of contraception is key, particularly amongst youth who have low usage rates, to reduce and prevent adolescent pregnancy.
Through UNFPA's support, nearly 400,000 women, adolescents and youth gained access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response services in the northern provinces of Mozambique in 2022.
