Baby Raccoons

Last year, I was at a local forest preserve and noticed a raccoon exiting this hole in the tree. About five months later, I was able to get one picture of her. This weekend, I decided to visit this preserve again in search of Baltimore Orioles. About thirty minutes before sunset, I decided to stop by this tree and check for any activity. It was getting pretty dark, but I could see at least one raccoon in the back of the hole. After about five minutes of coaxing, I was able to get the baby in the bottom of the photo to poke his head out. Shortly after that, his sibling joined him. Unfortunately, as soon as the flash went off, they quickly retreated. Kane County, Illinois
