Strength

Squeezed into a long strip by agriculture and intersected by a few smaller roads, this area of woodland still provides a haven. Each morning, a variety of birds can seen leaving roost sites in the trees and heading out to feed. the thick vegetation provides a home for a diverse range of invertebrates as well as fungi, lichens and mosses. Deer, Owls, Kites and Badgers all reside here. Screeching Jays and cackling Woodpeckers break the quiet that settles between the human noises from across the fields. Dragonflies patrol the clearings whilst a myriad off small creatures labour to keep it all in nature's order.

Forest bathing is seemingly a 'thing'. Life affirming, a mental reset, meditative and a host of other benefits. Nothing wrong with any of that, provided we remain aware we also need to practice some forest caring and some forest seeding. Trees and plants depend on fungi and invertebrates, we need all of them, it's just that they don't need us, nor can they depend on us.
